The Foundation: The Partner Scorecard

The heart of our performance management system is the Partner Scorecard. This is a dynamic, internal dashboard that tracks the health and performance of each broker in our network against a set of key performance indicators (KPIs). This scorecard is reviewed by our risk and relations teams on at least a monthly basis. Key metrics include:

Portfolio Quality Metrics:

Default Rate: The percentage of loans that have gone into default. We track this on both a current and a vintage basis (i.e., how are loans originated in a specific quarter performing over time?).
Delinquency Rates (30/60/90+ days): An early warning system that shows how many loans are late on payments, even if they haven't yet defaulted.
Recovery Rate: For loans that have defaulted, what percentage of the principal is the broker successfully recovering? This measures their effectiveness in collections and asset liquidation.

Operational Efficiency Metrics:

Reporting Timeliness and Accuracy: Is the broker providing their performance reports on time and without errors?
Loan Submission Quality: Are the loan packages they submit for funding complete and well-documented, or do they require significant back-and-forth?

Compliance Metrics:

A continuous check to ensure all licenses and regulatory certifications remain valid and in good standing.

From Data to Dialogue: The Review Process

The scorecard is not a tool for punishment; it is a tool to start a conversation. Our process is designed to be collaborative.

Regular Performance Reviews: Our Broker Relations managers hold scheduled quarterly reviews with the management of each partner firm. They walk through the scorecard together, discussing the trends and results.

Celebrating Success: If a partner is outperforming, we want to understand why. What are they doing right? Are there best practices that could be (anonymously) shared with the rest of the network to elevate everyone?

Addressing Underperformance: If a metric on the scorecard flashes red—for example, a rising delinquency rate—it triggers a proactive dialogue. Our first question is not "What went wrong?" but "How can we help?" Is there a new stress in their local economy we need to understand? Do they need support in refining their collections process? We approach it as a joint problem to be solved.

The Escalation Framework: A Clear and Fair Process

In the rare event that a partner's performance continues to decline despite our collaborative efforts, we have a clear, pre-defined escalation framework. This ensures fairness and transparency.

Formal Warning & Remediation Plan: If issues persist, a formal warning is issued, and we work with the partner to create a specific, time-bound remediation plan. This might involve them tightening their underwriting criteria or taking specific actions to improve collections.

Suspension of New Funding: If the remediation plan is not met, Zirdle will temporarily suspend the allocation of new capital to the partner. They will continue to service their existing portfolio, but no new loans will be funded until performance improves to an acceptable level.

Termination of Partnership: This is a measure of last resort, used only when there has been a serious breach of trust (like fraud) or a sustained and unrecoverable failure to meet performance standards. The termination process is governed by our legal agreements and is designed to ensure an orderly wind-down of the existing portfolio to protect investor capital.
